Figuring out how many calories you burn during strength training isn’t as easy as looking at a single number. Things like your weight, how long you work out, the exercises you do, how hard you train, and how much you rest all play a role.
Strength training might not burn as many calories during a workout as intense cardio, but burning calories isn’t its only benefit. Lifting weights helps you keep or build muscle, get stronger, and stay healthy over time.
